Welcoming Emily Dunaisky, L.Ac.

We are excited to welcome Emily Dunaisky, L.Ac., Master of Acupuncture, to our practice! Emily is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Minnesota with a Master’s degree in Acupuncture from Northwestern Health Sciences University. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in holistic healing, offering clients a well-rounded approach to health and wellness.

Emily specializes in treating chronic pain, orthopedic injuries, emotional wellness, menstrual health, depression, and overall well-being. She combines acupuncture with complementary techniques to provide individualized, comprehensive care. Her treatment methods include:

  • Acupuncture
  • Electro-Acupuncture
  • Auricular (ear) Acupuncture
  • Tui Na (Chinese bodywork technique)
  • Gua Sha
  • Cupping

Her extensive training includes certifications in Clean Needle Technique, NCCAOM Board Certification, and specialized training in microneedling for acne and hair loss. She has also completed internships at respected clinics such as the Bloomington Clinic, Human Performance Center, Pathways, and the Integrative Clinic of Minnesota.

Although Emily is early in her career, her dedication to holistic healing and personalized care makes her a valuable addition to our practice. She is passionate about helping clients feel their best by addressing the root causes of their concerns rather than just managing symptoms. Her holistic approach ensures that clients receive treatments tailored to their unique needs.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an ancient healing practice that has been used for thousands of years as part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It involves inserting very thin, sterile needles into specific points on the body to stimulate the nervous system, release hormones, and promote natural healing. Acupuncture helps restore balance in the body and is used to treat a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Chronic pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Digestive issues
  • Stress and anxiety
  • Depression
  • Menstrual irregularities
  • Musculoskeletal injuries

Is Acupuncture Safe?

Yes, acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment when performed by a trained and licensed professional like Emily. Acupuncturists undergo extensive education and hands-on training to understand human anatomy, proper needle techniques, and hygiene practices. When performed correctly, acupuncture carries minimal risk and offers numerous benefits for physical and emotional health.

Most people find acupuncture to be a relaxing experience with little to no discomfort. While some may feel mild sensations like tingling or warmth at the needle sites, side effects are rare and typically mild. If you have any concerns, Emily will be happy to discuss them and ensure you feel comfortable with your treatment plan.

Insurance and Payment Options

Currently, Emily is accepting UCare insurance and we hope to get her credentialed with additional insurance providers soon. Some insurance plans do cover acupuncture, and for those that do not, we offer:

  • Self-pay discounts
  • Superbills for reimbursement (Some insurance companies will apply these toward deductibles)

If you’re unsure about your coverage, we recommend checking with your insurance provider to see if acupuncture is included in your plan.

We are thrilled to have Emily as part of our team and look forward to offering our clients a deeper level of holistic care. If you’re interested in learning more or scheduling an appointment, please call 218.270.8020.
