JAMIE T. WHITEMAN, MSW, LICSW

ABOUT ME |  I have lived in Brainerd, MN since 2007. My family includes my husband of 27 years, three adult children, our golden retriever Mojo and Ziggy our mini Golden-Doodle. The lakes area provides a wonderful playground and I enjoy things like running, hiking, biking, snowshoeing and skiing. Relationships are golden to me, and I love to spend time with family and friends doing a range of things like supporting local cultural and non-profit events, playing games, or cooking up something delicious! I came into the mental health field after a first career of raising my three children. I treasure the opportunity to accompany individuals on their healing journey, and deeply know that this work is where I thrive. I strive to leave this world a better place by intentionally prioritizing self-care, so that I can show-up to each session with you, in the most useful way possible.

Self-care is never a selfish act – it is simply good stewardship of the only gift I have, the gift I was put on earth to offer others. Anytime we can listen to true self and give the care it requires, we do it not only for ourselves, but for the many others whose lives we touch.– Parker Palmer
